Our client are a market leader in the manufacture, design, and qualification of composite and PU material solutions for the defence, aerospace, health, rail and automotive sectors. They are seeking a Quality engineer to join their growing team at their Manchester manufacturing site.

Responsibilities – Quality Engineer

Complete the day-today responsibilities of the Quality function in the value stream team to which you are allocated to support.
Utilise the standardised Quality Engineering tools and processes to ensure that all Quality activities are completed accurately and consistently across the organisation.
Lead the implementation of effective APQP processes within the value stream team to which you are allocated to support.
Alongside the Process Engineer, complete the PFMEA and Control plan activities for all production processes.
Develop, implement and maintain robust process controls which support effective product and process quality.
Monitor and analyse manufacturing process data, identifying and proposing solutions for quality improvement continuously.
Work alongside the Manufacturing Engineering team to drive quality performance improvements within the Production process.
Identify and implement process control measures, including statistical process control (SPC) techniques, to ensure consistent quality and reduce process variation.
Provide Quality support and troubleshooting expertise to resolve process-related issues and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) through improvements to right-first time performance.
Perform process capability studies, statistical analysis and data-driven decision-making to drive operational excellence and enable production to meet targets.
Complete the Quality Engineering responsibilities associated with the introduction of new products and processes, working collaboratively with all functions as needed.
Support the completion of Lean improvement events and activities from a Quality Engineering perspective.
Lead the response to Customer Quality Concerns, driving a thorough and comprehensive root cause analysis approach with supporting corrective actions and preventive measures, utilising tools such as 8D, PPS, and DMAIC as appropriate.
Lead the processing and problem-solving of Production scrap via the effective utilisation of the MRB process.
Qualification/Experience – Quality Engineer

Significant Quality Engineering experience in a complex AS9100 Rev D or ISO9001 managed manufacturing environment.
Experienced in the use of standard Quality management methodologies including APQP, PPAP, PSW, FAIR, ISIR, SPC, and Control Plans.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex process issues.
Working knowledge of process safety, risk assessment and compliance with regulatory standards.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Trained AS9100/ISO9001 Auditor.
Experienced with the use of CMM measuring technology.
