Our client are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician to join their team. As a Quality Controller, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our cable harness manufacturing processes meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.

Our client specialises in the design and manufacture of high integrity customised cable harnesses and electro-mechanical assemblies to customers in the Aerospace, Motorsport, Marine, Mass Transit and Military Markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement quality control plans, procedures, and work instructions to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.

  • Conduct thorough inspections and tests at various stages of the cable harness manufacturing process to identify defects, non-conformities, and areas for improvement.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineers and production personnel, to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.

  • Monitor and analyse quality performance data, including product and process metrics, to identify trends and areas for improvement.

  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to eliminate recurring quality issues.

  • Lead and participate in internal and external quality audits to assess compliance with standards and customer specifications.

  • Provide training and guidance to manufacturing personnel on quality standards, processes, and best practices.

  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, and regulatory agencies on quality-related matters, ensuring effective communication and resolution of quality concerns.

  • Stay updated on industry trends, quality regulations, and emerging technologies to improve the quality management system continuously.

    Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Quality Controller, with experience of Root Cause Analysis.

  • Strong knowledge of quality control principles, methodologies, and tools.

  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, particularly in the defence and automotive sectors.

  • Proficiency in conducting inspections, tests, and quality audits.

  • Experience in using quality tools such as statistical process control (SPC), root cause analysis, and corrective action preventive action (CAPA) methodologies.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to a dynamic manufacturing environment.

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Quality Engineer, Six Sigma) are desirable but not mandatory.

    Benefits

    Competitive Salary range £25,000 - £30,000 (Dependent on experience).
