Job Summary
The Sr. Program Manager (Sr. PM) is responsible for the execution of the business case and contracts in line with requirements and agreed upon program scope. The Sr. PM Supports the Program Director (PD) & Defense Business Line providing updates on program activities including monthly program reviews (BR-4), ETCs, strategy plans, customer concerns, weekly status and on-going program management activities. The Sr. PM is a motivated & driven individual with several years of PM experience. The Sr. PM will lead the program(s) team with a strategic mindset focused on executing the business needs of the organization. Sr. PMs are also the customer point of contact for all program related topics.Job Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities
Supports the execution of program(s) (including changes) in compliance with business case and contractual requirements for their product(s). Responsible for continuously monitoring performance of their allocated program(s), managing off-track items and reporting progress through the Practical Problem Solving methods (PPS). Creates Program Execution & Program Improvement Plans, including cost improvements, pricing initiatives, enable Zero Defects Manufacturing, redesign initiatives, while gaining cross-functional stakeholder alignment. Provides input for make, move & buy decisions and is a strategic partner in important procurement decisions. Acts as the voice of the customer & manage escalation priorities. Supports the PD/VP in defining the vision, strategy & budget(s) for program(s) to optimize cash flow, operating income, profits and growth. Supports Engineering Change Control Board activities. Adheres to all program management standards and policies in accordance with the GKN Aerospace Program Management framework and contributes to process development. Actively manages Risk, Issue and Opportunity Management for control & risk mitigation exposure and takes advantage of all opportunities. Supports the PD in the proposal process. Responsible for planning and performance of Life Cycle Gates, including preceding Reviews. Responsible for updating Sales / Demand Planning and initiating demand management for serial purchase orders. Responsible for undertaking additional activities required to ensure successful delivery of the program.
Job Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
A Bachelor degree in engineering, business or a technical related field - Advanced education (MBA, etc.) a plus. 7-10 years of experience in program management. 10+ years of experience in the Aerospace/Defense Industries. Must understand performing work subject to ITAR regulations and program requirements in a manufacturing environment. Either a completed Professional Program Management Certification (PMP) or ability/criteria accomplished needed to obtain one. U.S. Person per ITAR/EAR regulations to comply with export compliance and site SSA requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong Customer Skills - ability to build relationships with customers and other internal / external stakeholders. Strong Communication skills, verbal & written. Understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR). Self-starter - ability to lead (Servant leadership). Cross-function team collaboration. Financial acumen - ability to own budgets, assist with cash flow & return quality of earnings. Experience in aerospace operations including engineering & procurement. Knowledge of US Government DPAS ratings a plus. Ability to create, manage and execute project plans. ETC's, EAC, budgeting skills. Risk & Opportunity tracking. Understanding of Aerospace business models. Negotiation skills. Proposal experience. Strong ability to build and lead teams. High Emotional Intelligence. Operates with a sense of urgency. Strong Excel, PowerPoint & general overall PC skills.
