The Landing Gear Market specializes in the design, qualification, manufacture and repair and overhaul of landing gears and flight critical components to a customer base that extends from the OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) to the Operators in both the commercial and military markets.

Summary of position:

Heroux-Devtek UK is seeking a Program Manager to oversee HDUK’s contracts with two major global aerospace primes. This role serves as the principal point of contact within the organisation for these customers. The Program Manager will ensure customer deliveries meet required quality and on-time standards, while also maintaining the programme’s ongoing profitability. As part of a high-performance team, the Program Manager must use informal leadership and skilled communication to influence within the organisation. Additionally, the Program Manager will report internally on the programme’s performance.

When a product is under development, there is a greater emphasis on Project Management of Engineering activities and related reporting/managing, with less focus on Production-related activities.

Main responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities (but not limited to):

• Maintain familiarity with contractual relationships and current business relationships with designated customers.
• Act as the primary point of contact with the customer and organise review meetings accordingly.
• Identify new business opportunities and prepare associated proposals.
• Draft and negotiate contracts to support new business opportunities or contractual changes.
• Manage routine order intake, including contract review.
• Measure and monitor the overall performance of the programme and manage the key performance indicators.
• Create and deploy recovery plans if required.
• Communicate improvement opportunities and inefficiencies to senior management.
• Resolve disputes with the customer and manage customer complaints and comments.
• Ensure compliance with HD - UK’s export control policies.
• Fulfill any other requirements needed to support the programme.

Qualifications:

• University degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or equivalent.
• APM Qualification or equivalent.

• Literacy in contractual, financial, and project management issues.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge of MRP systems.
• Experience in a similar role is appreciated.

Candidates should exhibit:
• Ability to influence and work effectively with people.
• Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.
• The ability to draft documents and presentations clearly and concisely.
• Evidence of previous experience in face-to-face negotiation and a track record of customer interaction.
• Pragmatism, tenacity, and the ability to think laterally to resolve problems.
• Strong team-working skills.
