Our client has an opportunity for a Production Test Engineer to join them on a contract basis in Henlow for 12 months.

Role: Production Test Engineer - Live Build
Location: Henlow - fully onsite
Hours: 37 per week
Clearance: Full SC required to start - UKI's only due to project
Hourly Rate: £32-£36 per hour via Umbrella, inside IR35

What you'll be doing:

Technical support to the manufacturing test of weapons systems in live build production test and diagnostics of complex weapons at system and Subsystem level.
Provide Test Engineering support during Design / Development phases from initial concept through to Production Readiness Review and release to Operations (live build).
Support Test Facility introduction and ensure that configuration control of equipment and facilities is in place prior to use, including generating supporting test specifications and operator instructions.
Support to testing of electrical/electronic weapon systems, with diagnosis of production test failures down to sub-system level.
Identification of remedial and corrective actions, in a timely manner allowing Manufacturing to continue production in line with programme.
Evaluation of technical problems in order to develop proposals for test equipment investigations and corrective actions, including process improvements.
Test Engineering representative at Defect Review Board meetings to ensure efficient progress of equipment and quality notifications towards corrective action.
Requirements:

HNC/HND (Electronics) Level of Qualifications or equivalent, plus good level of experience in digital & analogue electronics manufacture and test.
A good understanding of measurement and test principles, and associated test equipment.
High Voltage training/awareness
MS Office skills including technical specification and report preparation
Electronic system and sub-system level fault finding.
An understanding of the typical CADMID product lifecycle for test equipment is desirable.
An understanding of RF and microwave technology and test would be an advantage.
Good verbal and written communication skills, including generation of test specifications, operator instructions and technical reports based on higher-level requirements.
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
The ability to plan and organise own work in order to ensure multiple tasks can be prioritised and delivered against Project objectives.
