My client, based near Watford, specialise in the design and production of metal bellows for a number of industries including Aerospace, Medical, Vacuum Engineering.

This role will see the successful candidate support the current Production Manager during the initial 6-18 months on the early shift (7:00am-3:00pm), before transitioning to lead the evening shift (3:00pm-11:00pm).

Production Supervisor Job Overview

Initial Phase - Day Shift (7:00am-3:00pm)

Support daily production activities alongside the current leadership team.
Supervise and guide production staff to meet quality, safety, and output targets.
Contribute to team hiring, onboarding, and training.
Assist in identifying and implementing Lean process improvements.
Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to maintain high standards.
Gain in-depth knowledge of products, processes, and team dynamics.Transition Phase - Evening Shift (3:00pm-11:00pm)

Lead and manage the full evening shift, ensuring smooth operations.
Take ownership of team performance, development, and shift targets.
Drive continuous improvement using Lean tools and data-driven decisions.
Ensure effective communication and handovers between shifts.
Monitor KPIs and escalate issues as needed to senior leadership.

Production Supervisor Job Requirements

Experience in a supervisory role within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Lean qualifications and a solid track record of applying Lean tools to drive process improvements.
Willing and able to lead an evening shift following a period of onboarding and training.
Ideally possess an engineering background.
ISO9001 standards and health & safety practices (advantageous but not essential).

Production Supervisor Salary & Benefits

Salary £38,000 - £44,000 depending on experience
