Job Summary

We are looking for a Procurement Operations Manager for our Procurement/Supplier Quality department in Papendrecht. In this role where you lead the Purchase-to-Pay process, you are responsible for the operational performance of suppliers within the wiring activities of Fokker Elmo. You will lead a team of operational buyers and supplier quality engineers who are responsible for ensuring delivery in line with operational performance requirements from our suppliers. Your goal is resource management, delivering against performance objectives, focused on continuous improvement, people development and supplier delivery performance. This role reports to the Site Director.

Job Responsibilities

As Procurement Operations Manager, you have the following responsibilities: 

• Lead a team of operational buyers that are responsible for ensuring delivery in line with operational performance requirements from suppliers across a scope of ~ £45m spend
• Accountable for the management of the people within the operational procurement team ensuring performance management, development plans and succession planning
• Responsible for application across the team of supplier scheduling in line with production plan, the accuracy of suppliers and procured parts data within the MRP system. 
• Accountable for embedding standard procurement process into the operational procurement team including a daily review and alignment meeting, a weekly KPI and objectives meeting and maintaining a daily regimen with employees
• Working closely with other operational procurement teams to ensure standardisation of procurement process
• Accountable for the accuracy of supplier and procured parts data within MRP/ERP system 
• Accountable for material availability
• Accountable for optimal inventory levels
• Development and delivery of continuous improvement plans for operational procurement
• Accountable for internal customer relationships and stakeholder management

Job Qualifications

• BSc degree, or equivalent in a Business, Engineering, or Science discipline
• Minimum of 10 years relevant business experience
• Minimum of 5 years experience in Procurement SCM or Production Management
• Previous and significant experience with an international supply base
• A demonstrated ability to build relations with a supplier network and having insight in suppliers processes
• A demonstrated ability to develop a performance excellence organisation
• A track record of Leadership to work with cross functional teams
• Analytical skills, decisiveness, customer focus and organizational sensitivity
• Proficiency in English and Dutch, both written and spoken

What do we do at GKN Fokker Elmo

At GKN Fokker ELMO, we make wiring harnesses for aircraft, which connect all the electrical systems in an aircraft. To make the wiring harnesses, we have everything in-house from start to finish. From complete engineering to our final product, the ready-to-use wiring harnesses, we do this for well-known aircraft manufacturers such as Boeing, Airbus, and Lockheed-Martin for both civil and military aircraft.
