Verus Recruitment Partners are pleased to be supporting a South Yorkshire-based leading international aerospace manufacturer in the recruitment of a Process bay technician on a full-time, permanent basis due to continued growth and projects.

This role is integral to their operations, involving the loading of aerospace components into tanks for chemical milling, cleaning, degreasing, and etching according to stringent customer specifications. Your ability to work safely with toxic chemicals and adherence to quality standards will be crucial.

About the Role:

As a Process Bay Technician, you will be responsible for following Standard Operations Procedures (SOPs) to carry out various chemical processes on aerospace components. Your role will involve interpreting technical drawings, ensuring compliance with NADCAP and ISO9000 standards, and using the appropriate tools and safety equipment to perform your tasks. This position is ideal for someone who is meticulous, safety-conscious, and eager to contribute to improving our working practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Load aerospace components into tanks for chemical milling, cleaning, degreasing, and etching, following precise customer requirements.
Adhere to Standard Operations Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and quality in operations.
Understand and interpret technical drawings to accurately process components.
Comply with NADCAP and ISO9000 standards, ensuring all work meets the required quality benchmarks.
Utilize the correct tools, safety equipment, and protective clothing for each task.
Work safely with toxic chemicals, ensuring the safety of yourself and your colleagues.
Continuously seek opportunities to improve existing work practices and exceed targets.
Demonstrate behaviour that aligns with the company’s values and competencies.
Support the company’s Health & Safety standards by taking personal responsibility for safety.
Perform additional duties as requested by management. About You:

Quick to learn and adapt to new concepts
Good literacy skills to read Route Cards, Data Cards, and SOPs
Experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly within aerospace
Experience working safely with toxic chemicals
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Effective communication skills and enthusiasm for the role. What’s in it for you?

Competitive Salary. 
The role is a 2-shift pattern during training (Mornings and afternoons) and includes a 12.5% shift premium, taking your salary to £33,471
Once training is completed, you will move on to a 3 Shift Pattern and this will take your salary to £34,810
Working morning afternoon and night shifts with an earlier finish on a Friday (37-hour week).
Shift times: Mornings = 0600 – 1345 (Mon-Thur), 0600 – 1200 (Fri). Afternoons = 1330 – 2115 (Mon-Thur), 1145 – 1745 (Fri). Nights = 2100 – 0615 (Mon-Thur).
Overtime paid at time and a half.
