Lead the Engineering Behind the Next Generation of Defence Technology

Are you ready to play a key role in shaping one of the UK’s most advanced weapon platforms? Join a leading organisation at the forefront of complex systems engineering, where your expertise in structural and thermal analysis will be vital to mission success. As a Senior/Principal Stress Engineer, you'll guide and deliver technically challenging projects with real-world impact in national defence.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be part of a dedicated Mechanical Analysis team responsible for the integrity and performance of advanced military systems. From early concept development through to in-service support, your insights will ensure our platforms remain robust, reliable, and ready for anything.

You’ll work across multiple engineering disciplines including structural, dynamic, fatigue, thermal, impact, and beyond, using both classical analysis methods and cutting-edge CAE tools. You'll lead design validation, troubleshoot complex issues, and contribute to future improvements in methodology and toolsets.

Alongside your technical contributions, you'll have a leadership role, mentoring junior engineers, guiding analysis plans, and representing your work to senior stakeholders with clarity and confidence.

What You’ll Need to Succeed



A degree in mechanical, aerospace, structural, or a similar engineering discipline (or significant equivalent experience)

Strong background in structural analysis, both hand calculations and computer-aided engineering (e.g. HyperWorks or similar)

*

Experience planning and delivering analysis work packages

*

Confidence presenting technical findings to senior technical and non-technical audiences

*

A passion for developing processes, improving workflows, and driving innovation

*

Experience supporting or mentoring junior engineers

*

A collaborative mindset and strong communication skills

*

Eligibility for UK Security Clearance (British citizens or dual UK nationals only)
