This is a permanent position focused on delivering advanced energy systems for the maritime industry, driving the development of cutting-edge technology for marine lithium-ion battery and high-power charging systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Growing and leading the Control Engineering function within the department and maintaining the development processes and toolchain.
Performing analysis of system requirements and supporting decomposition and authoring of control/software requirements.
Working with technical specialists to coordinate and lead the development of robust control and software architectures for core products.
Developing application software and control logic in MATLAB Simulink.
Developing features and algorithms for performance, user experience, and safety functionality covering a range of energy products.
Supporting the application of Functional Safety, adhering to the company's software quality/safety management processes.
Developing plant models to support SIL/MIL test activities.
Providing practical support debugging control logic and interface errors in both lab and application environments.
Conducting MIL and SIL testing within the software development environment.
Collaborating closely with multi-disciplinary teams to iterate through system development efficiently.
Introducing new electronics technology where appropriate.
Fulfilling reporting requirements and attending team and 1-1 meetings.
Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures and building good working relationships across the company.
Contributing to a culture that reflects the company's values and guiding principles.

Job Requirements:

Holder of Bachelor (BSc/BEng) degree in a relevant engineering discipline (Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Control Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Aerospace Engineering).
Experience as a Controls Engineer within electrification/e-mobility sectors.
Experience with Battery Management/EV Charging Systems.
Model-based design and development experience with MATLAB Simulink, Stateflow, Simscape.
Experience with controls development in e-mobility programmes, particularly in Propulsion, Battery Management, or Vehicle Control.
Knowledge of data communication protocols including CAN, RS-485, and RS-232.
Ability to meet customer and regulatory design requirements.
Proficiency in debugging control logic and addressing hardware failures.
Ability to liaise with suppliers and technical partners effectively.
Experience with Embedded C/C++ and Python (desirable).
Familiarity with different lithium-ion battery chemistries (desirable).
Experience in Control Engineering within a robust new product development framework (e.g., ASPICE).
Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and familiarity with SysML (desirable).
