Principal Systems Engineer / Basildon / c£53.50 per hour PAYE

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading Aerospace and Defence Organisation for a Principal Systems Engineer to be part of a team supporting their next generation Hostile Artillery Locating System development. Joining during a crucial part of the engineering lifecycle you will lead end-to-end systems engineering efforts, from concept through to deployment. Collaborating across cross-functional teams to support integration and qualification of technical solutions.

What you'll do as a Principal Systems Engineer:
· Contribute to requirements specification and management for complex, multi-faceted outputs.
· Participate in systems integration, verification, qualification & validation.
· Supporting junior engineers and contribute to technical excellence across the organisation.
· Ensure compliance with Mil Std's, Industry Std's and regulatory requirements.
· Supporting activities including design reviews and peer reviews.
· Development of the software security plan.

What you'll bring
· Knowledge and experience of all stages of the engineering development lifecycle.
· Proven experience in requirements definition, verification, qualification & validation.
· Experience in system level testing.
· CE Marking compliance for electrical and electronic equipment (EEE).
· Experience using IBM Engineering Requirements Management DOORS (Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System).
· Awareness of Safety, Security and other legislative constraints.
· Defence industry experience.

It would be nice if you had:
· Domain experience in an Electronics focused role.
· Evidenced experience of developing training manuals for end users.

This is a 10 month Temporary contract with the potential to extend

Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week, flexible

This role is subject to pre-employment screening in line with the UK Government's Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). An additional range of Personnel Security Controls referred to as National Security Vetting (NSV) may apply, this could include meeting the eligibility requirements for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
