You will be immersed in a flight programme with access to experts in all disciplines needed to design complex global communication systems. Excellent team-working, innovative and analytical skills will be put to use to explore the technological and performance boundaries in an environment unlike anywhere on Earth. The Processor Systems team are world-leaders in digital signal processors for modern communications satellites. Our products fly in a range of missions including global telecommunications, navigation constellations and space observatories beyond Earth orbit. We work with European colleagues and suppliers around the world, leveraging the most advanced technologies to deliver the best performance for our customers. What you will be doing: As part of this internship, you will be involved in a flight programme as part of a multi-disciplinary team working to ensure that a complex system comprising digital hardware and software components in space and on the ground comes together to meet all of our customers’ needs. This will involve the development and application of sophisticated software to simulate, control and test our new product designs. Typical activities include: · Control software development and validation; · Integration of software with satellite digital hardware; · Simulation modelling of satellite digital systems. Requirements: Our placements are open to Undergraduates only . Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. Please ensure you include your CV and a cover letter for your application to be considered Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following: · Working towards a degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline with a strong software content; · Proficiency in C, Python or similar software programming languages; · Enthusiasm for digital electronic technologies; · Initiative to find creative solutions to complex technical problems; · Desire to collaborate within a multi-disciplinary engineering team environment; · Quick learner, capable of absorbing a wide range of skills and expertise.
