Job Title: Multi-skilled Technician
Location: Yatton
Pay Range: £40,000 – £50,000 (DOE)
Shift: 3 shift rotation
Contract Type: Permanent

My client, a leader in advanced manufacturing and automation, is seeking a Multi-skilled Technician to join their engineering team at their state-of-the-art site in Yatton. This role is key to ensuring the reliability and continuous improvement of CNC-controlled and powder coating processes, supporting production efficiency, safety, and quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have solid experience working with Siemens S7 control systems and related automation platforms, alongside a strong understanding of safety devices and servo drive systems. You’ll play an active role in fault finding, preventative maintenance, continuous improvement projects, and supporting the wider operations team.

Key Responsibilities – Multi-skilled Technician

Work and train with shift Technicians to develop and enhance Siemens S7, TIA Portal, WinCC, SCADA, and HMI skills.
Perform fault finding and programme adjustments to improve safety, quality, and process efficiency.
Maintain and calibrate CNC and powder coating equipment and associated support systems.
Execute and document safe working procedures, risk assessments, and corrective actions.
Monitor and audit safety practices, PPE use, and departmental housekeeping.
Carry out scheduled and reactive maintenance in line with CMMS systems and GMP guidelines.
Lead and support line changeovers, setups, and technical investigations.
Drive root cause analysis and corrective action implementation across production areas.
Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to prioritise tasks effectively.
Support continuous improvement initiatives in line with business objectives and compliance standards.
Qualifications & Requirements – Multi-skilled Technician

Formal engineering qualification: City & Guilds, BTEC, ONC, HNC or higher.
Strong experience with Siemens S7, TIA Portal, and associated industrial control systems.
Familiar with Rexroth servo motors and Indra drives.
Experience working with PLZ, Keyence, and Sick safety systems.
Knowledge of GMP, Health & Safety standards, and risk assessment best practices.
Excellent fault-finding skills and hands-on technical ability.
Experience using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
Strong communication skills, proactive attitude, and ability to work cross-functionally.
Flexible and adaptable approach to work and shift support.
