Our Engineering Research and Development department (ER&D) is a fast growing function within Tata Technologies Limited that is assembled to work on exciting projects globally for multiple customers. It comprises highly specialized engineers across Automotive, Aerospace and Industrial Heavy Machinery.

The Role:

The Module Leader is responsible to setup and run program module team and ensure technical and commercial aspects of program deliverables.

An ideal candidate would build strong relationships and work effortlessly across multiple engineering departments such as manufacturing, supplier quality, purchasing, service as well as rest of program management teams.

Area of Responsibility

  • Establishing, planning and running the engineering sub system meetings to ensure appropriate cross functional representation and input from all relevant areas.
  • Provide leadership and guidance within your defined module where new engineering systems and components are developed.
  • Managing the team, planning projects and reporting on progress to management.
  • Attend key meetings, co-ordinate cross-functional reviews.
  • Ensure your Module progression of design initial concept through to Engineering Sign-Offand design gateways
  • Set and deliver cost & weight targets for module.
  • Ensure Regulatory compliance of all Body Structures & Subsystems
  • Define and deliver appropriate system-level engineering targets to meet function, quality and attribute requirements of the Vehicle Program
  • Ensure that all products meet the specification requirements and project targets through a documented DVP
  • Keep track and ensure resolution of all Validation issues.
  • Develop System Design Specifications incorporating engineering standards, test proceduresand material specifications.
  • Lead Failure Mode Avoidance activities including DFMEA, quality history reviews development tests.
  • Ensuring all relevant documentation as per ISO& quality standards.
  • Lead the resolution of design, attribute or packaging incompatibilities through the appropriatecross-functional meetings
  • Support purchasing team in sourcing and RFQ activities.
  • Support vehicle launch and pre-production builds (both virtual and physical)
  • Ensuring the effective application of APQP to manage Module delivery

Knowledge / Experience

Proven program management capability demonstrated by recent delivery in line with time, Cost, quality & attribute targets

Demonstrate you have delivered at least 2 programs from concept to SOP.

Ability to lead cross functional teams.

Ability to develop timing plan for complex programs, understating of financial implications.

Proven experience and deep knowledge in development and/or integration of Body Structures & Subsystems

Engineering knowledge of defined component(s) / system(s) design, function, performance, production & manufacturing requirement

Excellent communications skills, demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels

Liaise with supplier, Manufacturing, CAE& Validation Teams.

CAD Literacy: Ability to generate CAD data and Master sections in CATIA V5/NX.

Good understanding of BOM management, tracking changes to parts, tools

Significant experience in use of engineering tools FMEA, Six Sigma, problem resolution etc.

Qualification:

BE/B. Tech in Mechanical/Production/ Automotive Engineering
