Looking to join a long-term programme delivering major infrastructure projects in the nuclear sector?

Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a background in crane systems or mechanical handling equipment?

Do you have hands-on experience using Autodesk Inventor in a highly regulated engineering environment?

The Opportunity
Join an industry leading consultancy with a multi-decade programme of complex infrastructure projects within a highly regulated environment. As part of a major transformation initiative, they are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design and delivery of modern, resilient storage facilities for long-term material containment.
We would also welcome applications from these industries: defence, aerospace, oil & gas, rail, and chemical processing.

This role would suit candidates working in these roles: Mechanical Design Engineer, Mechanical Handling Engineer, Crane Systems Engineer, Senior Mechanical Engineer, Project Engineer, Mechanical Systems Engineer, Equipment Design Engineer, Mechanical CAD Engineer, Mechanical Package Engineer, or Engineering Consultant.
Your duties and responsibilities will be
Interpret and apply current mechanical and lifting equipment standards, regulations, and industry best practices
Prepare detailed technical documentation including specifications, reports, and design calculations
Use Autodesk Inventor to develop and refine mechanical handling designs
Contribute to defining project scope, timelines, and budgets across multi-disciplinary teamsYou will have the following qualifications and experience
Substantial post-graduate experience in a regulated engineering environment, ideally including nuclear
Degree or equivalent qualification in mechanical engineering or a related discipline
Strong working knowledge of Autodesk tools, particularly AutoCAD and Inventor
Familiarity with UK engineering drawing standards such as BS8888, BS5070, and BS EN 61082
Proven ability to deliver work in line with safety, quality, and regulatory frameworksGet in touch now
