I’m currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established and highly respected engineering firm that specialises in the design, manufacture, and installation of bespoke automation, assembly, and testing machinery.

With over 30 years of experience, this organisation delivers custom-engineered solutions to some of the most demanding sectors, including automotive, aerospace, and advanced manufacturing. Their projects range from small-scale tooling fixtures to fully automated end-of-line testing systems, all tailored to meet exacting client specifications.

The Role:

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be a key contributor to the development of complex mechanical systems. Your responsibilities will include:

Designing mechanical components and assemblies using 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor).
Producing detailed technical drawings and documentation for manufacture and assembly.
Conducting engineering analysis including tolerance studies and FEA.
Collaborating with electrical engineers, software developers, and project managers to deliver integrated solutions.
Supporting the build, testing, and commissioning of machinery both in-house and on-site.
Participating in design reviews and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

About You:

Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in mechanical design, ideally within automation, special purpose machinery, or manufacturing.
Strong proficiency in CAD and a solid understanding of mechanical principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
