We are working with a busy Scottish based company who provide a range of engineering and boat building services to customers across the North of Scotland area. Running two large workshops which are fully equipped to ensure that their experienced team have the space, tools, and environment to effectively undertake marine based work at their premises.

They currently have an immediate requirement for a Marine Engineer. Working with their company, you will undertake installation, modification, repair/maintenance, and diagnostics of various mechanical systems. Previous experience of marine fits and repairs is desirable and working with marine engines, hydraulics, propulsion, and other systems is essential. Previous experience with Volvo and Yanmar engines with a good knowledge of power and sailing boats or boating experience would also be a major advantage.

Typical tasks include:

· Marine petrol and diesel inboard installations.

· Fault finding.

· Installing and connecting generators/batteries.

· Engine room electrical fit outs.

· Various engine services from single cylinder diesels to 13L diesels.

· Efficient diagnostics.

· Regular training courses to keep up to date with new products and modern technology.

Minimum requirements:

· Marine Mechanical Engineering Qualification or time served apprenticeship with hands on experience.

· Able to work on marine engines and related systems.

· Experience of working with marine leisure crafts from around 15’ - 65’ feet.

· Ensure that tasks are completed in a structured and professional manner.

· Seeking a candidate that will always strive for excellence.

· Applicant must have an ability to work independently or as part of a team with an understanding of working to deadlines.

· Must Hold a Full UK driver’s licence.

Salary

· £40000-£45000 (Dependent on experience)
