Job Title: Manual Machinist (Grinder)
Salary: Negotiable dependent upon experience
Location: Ramsgate, Kent
Aeropeople have partnered with a global designer and manufacturer of electronic instruments and electromechanical devices who are now looking to hire a permanent Manual Machinist (Grinder), to be based at their site in Ramsgate. The successful candidate would be expected to be on site 5 days per week.

They are a leading global provider of industrial technology solutions serving a diverse set of attractive niche markets, recognised as a global provider of third-party MRO services to commercial, regional and general aviation customers as well as military, helicopter and business jet markets. As a global manufacturer of electronic instruments and electromechanical devices they offer specialised services for more than 5,000 components over a variety of aircraft systems with capabilities covering aircraft windings, electrical power, hydraulic components, landing gear and safety equipment.
As a Grinder you will be responsible for the manual grinding of aircraft components, using your experience and eye for detail to make a real contribution towards aviation safety.
There are various possible shift patterns available:
Early 6am- 2.15pm Monday to Friday
Day 8am- 4.30pm Monday to Friday
Late 2.15pm- 12.30am Monday to Wednesday/ 2.15pm- 11.30pm Thursday
Main Responsibilities:

  • Setting/operating manual machines
  • Repair aviation components to the highest quality, adhering to engineering drawings
  • Ensuring that the products prioritised by the business are delivered on time.
  • Operating machine tools safely and productively, following company health and safety policies.
  • Strong understanding of grinding components with precision tolerances, especially within micron/thou levels.
  • Making sure all shop floor documentation is signed off and that all products and paperwork always correspond.
  • Commitment to meet production targets without ever compromising quality.

    About You:
  • Previous experience in engineering
  • Previous experience of cylindrical, surface, internal and planetary grinding
  • Computer literate - competent in Microsoft Office
  • Level 2 or 3 Engineering Qualification
