Our client is looking for an experienced Lead Estimator, with previous experience within the fire protection sector, to join their busy Sales and Estimating Team

Key Responsibilities - Lead Estimator

Review tender documentation, including project-specific consultant specifications and drawings.
Liaise with clients and attend meetings to discuss project requirements and expectations.
Build and nurture strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
Conduct site surveys as needed to gather key data for accurate estimating.
Communicate with suppliers to obtain project-specific pricing and availability.
Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create blueprints and preliminary designs to support the estimating process.
Apply in-house calculation tools to produce accurate and fixed cost estimates.
Prepare comprehensive proposal documents, including all relevant deliverables where applicable.
Track and follow up on submitted quotations, gather client feedback, negotiate as needed, and analyse outcomes to produce win/loss KPIs and lessons learned.
Manage one of two Estimator teams, providing leadership and guidance.
Maintain regular communication with internal departments such as Projects, Commercial, and Design to ensure alignment.
Lead internal handover meetings following project awards to ensure smooth project transition.
Qualifications & Requirements - Lead Estimator

Solid technical knowledge of international fire protection standards, including LPC, BS EN 12845, BS 9251, BS 5306, BS 9990, as well as FM and NFPA systems.
Proven experience in leading and managing teams effectively.
Exposure to the special hazards market is advantageous but not essential.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage deadlines and adapt to shifting priorities.
High attention to detail and a track record of working with accuracy and efficiency.
Proficient in IT, with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Approachable and professional demeanour, with the ability to build strong client relationships and represent the company positively.
Willing and able to travel across the UK and internationally as required.
Strong commercial awareness and solid numerical skills.
Enthusiastic about continuous learning and professional development.
Holds a full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 penalty points.
DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check required
