Engineering Manager - Wolverhampton

Working within a specialist EDM, machining and grinding operation in the West Midlands, our firmly established client is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to support their ongoing manufacturing growth activity within the global aerospace and industrial sectors.

Based primarily at their site near Wolverhampton, but having close working activity with the Group sister site near Halesowen, this role will report to the Group Operations Director and key responsibilities will include:

Direct engineering responsibility within an established manufacturing environment
Work closely with Operations to support all elements of manufacturing including machining, machining techniques, best practice, continuous improvement, schedule adherence, cost and efficiency control
Support NPI and product development opportunities
Managing a team of circa 30 people, the role is a hands-on position and involves working to high tolerances and with specialist carbon-based materials as well as metallics. Combining grinding, 3 / 4 / 5 axis machining, the Engineering Manager should have considerable experience of working in an engineering and manufacturing environment with a strength in CNC manufacturing across similar operations.

This role would ideally suit candidates who have seen career success from a machinist level through to a supervisory/management position.
