Job Description: Engineering Manager

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams of 20-30 people in delivering complex projects within the defence, medical and aerospace sectors. This role requires a technical leader with a proven track record in program delivery, exceptional leadership skills, and a deep understanding of engineering principles in high-reliability industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Team Management:

    • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of 20-30 engineers across multiple disciplines to achieve technical and program objectives.

    • Foster a high-performance culture, promoting collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

    • Oversee recruitment, team development, performance evaluations, and succession planning.

  • Program Delivery:

    • Manage the end-to-end delivery of engineering programs, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

    • Define and monitor project milestones, risks, and deliverables.

    • Coordinate with stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams, to meet program requirements and expectations.

  • Technical Expertise:

    • Provide technical leadership and guidance across design, development, testing, and integration phases.

    • Resolve complex engineering challenges and make critical technical decisions.

    • Ensure all engineering activities comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.

  • Strategic Planning:

    • Support long-term business objectives by developing engineering strategies and aligning team efforts with organizational goals.

    • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and product quality.

  • Stakeholder Management:

    • Collaborate closely with senior leadership, program managers, and customers to communicate progress, challenges, and technical details effectively.

    • Build strong relationships with external partners and suppliers to ensure smooth program execution.

      Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or related field).

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of engineering experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or managerial role.

  • Experience managing teams of 20-30 engineers in high-reliability industries (defence, medical, or aerospace).

  • Proven expertise in delivering complex engineering programs, from concept to production.

  • Strong technical background, with hands-on experience in design, development, and testing processes.

  • Excellent project management skills, with a solid understanding of Agile or other delivery methodologies.

  • Knowledge of industry standards, certifications, and regulatory requirements in defence, medical, or aerospace sectors.

  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience with budget management and resource allocation
