Amazon is hiring for a VAT Manager, based in London,to focus on supporting our Digital and Devices business lines in aVAT advisory role. The successful candidate will engage and partnerwith the Digital and Devices business teams to support current andfuture offerings across EMEA regions, including expansions,restructurings, ESS obligations for cross-border supplies ofdigital services, operating guidelines, and day-to-day questions.The candidate must be comfortable directly liaising with variousbusiness teams within the company, with an aim of gaining a deepunderstanding of the business vision and model in order to developclear tax solutions in support of the business, develop taxrequirements that clearly articulate such solutions, and drive theimplementation of the tax requirements. The ideal candidate willfocus on indirect tax matters but will also have a base knowledgeof direct tax and transfer pricing issues and how these can impactthe business solution being articulated. The candidate will alsowork with other members of the global tax department to formulateand drive wider VAT/ indirect tax strategy, communicate current andfuture business plans, obtain cross-functional tax subject matterinput, and ensure coordination of cross-functional tax solutions.This position is not directly involved in day-to-day VAT compliancebut is responsible for delivering the advisory planning, real timecoordination, and communication of various tax-related projectsacross EMEA regions, including supporting engagements andnegotiations with external advisors, government bodies, taxauthorities, and auditors. The Digital and Devices tax teamsupports and partners with Amazon business lines including Alexa,Audible, Kindle, Amazon Games, Amazon Music, Prime Video, AmazonStudios, FireTV, Amazon Prime, Amazon Devices (Echo, Kindle, Ring),and Twitch. We also support Project Kuiper to launch low-earthsatellite broadband to unserved and underserved customers aroundthe world! Minimum 5 years of relevant tax experience (e.g., Big 4Accounting Firm, Law Firm or in-house tax experience), or anequivalent combination of education and experience preferred. -Fluent English language. Recognised professional tax qualification,chartered accountant or relevant law degree - International VATexperience in both practice and industry (including domestic andcross-border supplies of both B2C and B2B, goods and services) -Detail-oriented individual who takes ownership of projects, isorganized, possesses excellent analytical and problem-solvingskills, and is able to deliver on tight deadlines - Able to analyzeand review statutes, regulations, and case law and then extractdata and make sound recommendations - Protecting your privacy andthe security of your data is a longstanding top priority forAmazon.
