    Job Description

    As an R&D / Process Development Engineer, you will support the development of new process methodologies and equipment for innovative thermal technologies. This role involves designing, constructing, and testing process and test equipment, while working closely with internal teams and external partners to meet project goals. The R&D / Process Development Engineer will be involved in managing project activities, supporting commercial and R&D initiatives, and ensuring alignment of new processes with established manufacturing standards.

    Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and commissioning pilot-scale manufacturing and test equipment.

  • Creating engineering designs and ensuring efficient commissioning and testing.

  • Managing R&D and commercial projects to support new product capabilities.

  • Collaborating with manufacturing engineers to produce and test prototypes.

  • Providing problem-solving support to enhance departmental operations.

    Skills & Experience

    Essential:

  • 3+ years in R&D, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering.

  • Expertise in process development areas such as automated welding, fluid/gas control, electrical control, and data acquisition.

  • BEng/MEng qualified, or an HNC with relevant experience.

  • Proficiency in 3D modeling and 2D drawing.

  • Background in process equipment and product development.

  • Skilled in qualification testing to ISO or equivalent standards.

  • Strong analytical and technical writing skills.

  • Excellent time management, able to meet deadlines independently and within teams.

    Desirable:

  • Proficiency with SolidWorks.

  • Experience in thermal testing and vacuum systems.
