On behalf of our client, we are looking to appoint a Configuration Manager for an initial 12-month contract. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring adherence to company policies and the application of Configuration Management best practices. You will work closely with project, product, and service teams as a key member of the CADM team. Additionally, you will serve as the first point of support and training for users of the Product Lifecycle Management tool and the Configuration Management Database

Role: Configuration Manager
Pay: £41 per hour via Umbrella rate
Location: Portsmouth
Contract: Monday to Friday, 37 Hours a week, 12-month contract
IR35 Status: Inside
SC Clearnce: SC Clearance, can start on BPSS

Responsibilities

Support Project team members for CADM related queries, provide guidance on both Document and Data Management and CMDB use.
Propose process improvements.
Support the CADM team members.
Report on activities, CMDB state and documentation / data status.
Support CADM Team Leader.
You run the day-to-day management of the configuration status of the Project.
You produce the Project Configuration and Data Management Plan(s), Project Change Management Plan and/or Procedure in line with PLM processes.
You set up and run the CM activities as part of project lifecyle (inc. audits).
You manage the Project(s) workload and highlight any perceived adjustments that might be required to the Local Team Lead or Department Head.
You lead CADM team members assigned to 'your' project(s).
You work closely with the Customer and Project ensuring the requirements are maintained without additional cost or impact to Project or Customer.
You create, manage and distribute the relevant structures (BOMs, Product Trees, Equipment Assembly trees, etc.).
You support Project team members for CADM related queries and provide guidance on both Configuration Management and CMDB use.
You set up and run the CCB activities (Initiation, assessment, CCB facilitation, agenda and report).
You develop CM processes & Tool improvements.
Essential requirements:

Good standard of education, Degree, HNC, Diploma, NVQ Level 5 or higher.
The role requires SC and eligibility to handle ITAR.
Previous experience of file/data management tools (MS Office, PDF editor, FTP, Nero, etc.).
Full Configuration Management knowledge (Configuration Identification, Configuration Structures (Assembly / Product etc), Baseline Management, Change Management, Status Accounting, Auditing).
Previous experience of Product Data Management tools (Windchill, Teamcenter, Aras Minerva, etc.) required
Understanding of project, product lifecycle highly desirable.
Exposure to APQP, CMII would be an asset
Experience setting up the Configuration processes on new project highly desirable.
