As our Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for our processes from capture through to proposal, contract award, and all phases of contract administration.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Provide business advice and guidance to other to effectively manage a breadth of responsibilities, including contract solicitations / capture, negotiations, and contract terms, including fulfilment of related obligations. Serve as authorised, empowered representative for the Company within appropriate delegations of authority. Interface with Customer buying representatives responsible for building effective relationships and managing contracts to support business goals and objectives. Coordinate solutions to contractual issues and Customer concerns related to Company performance. Ensure contractual compliance with all laws and regulations, and adherence to Delegation of Authority and approval requirements for proposals and contractual actions. Lead and support audits, as appropriate, with internal and external audit teams and agencies to support contract-related activities and verify compliance. Ensure final contract documents are consistent with agreements reached at negotiations.

Required skills, qualifications and experience

​​​​ Contract Management experience in the UK defence environment – particularly on complex defence bids; Must be confident in reviewing sets of terms and conditions, negotiating with customers independently (or with minimal input); Knowledge of Contract Management and advanced Contracting techniques/tools; Highly motivated with a proven record of negotiating a strong position for the business; Individual who thrives on challenges and has experience working within a fast-paced Contracts and Bid team environment; Experience of working with DEFCONS; Capable of operating to tight schedules in a dynamic work environment; Capable of identifying and mitigating risks and effective issue resolution; Good presentation skills; Confident presenting to various levels of organisation; Flexibility to travel as required (UK and abroad); and UK Citizenship; Current SC clearance or ability to achieve. Desired skills, qualifications and experience (update as needed) : Bid writing; Experience of working on Framework Agreements; CIPS qualification good - but not essential; World Commerce and Contracting Advanced Practitioner – desirable but not essential; Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 10 years of professional experience; or 8 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree; and Considered an emerging specialist.
