CNC Programmer and Operator

Up to £42,000 per annum (includes 15% late shift uplift), dependent on experience

Bristol

Full-time, 40 hours per week (alternate early and late shifts, with every other Friday off)

Shift Details:
*Early Shift: Monday – Thursday (06:00 – 15:00), Friday (06:00 – 17:30)
*Late Shift: Monday – Thursday (13:30 – 22:45), Friday OFF

Our client is a precision engineering company in Bristol with over 50 years of experience, specialising in bespoke CNC machining solutions for industries such as aerospace, defence, nuclear, and medical device manufacturing. Known for their expertise and commitment to quality, they are looking for an experienced CNC Programmer and Operator to join their skilled and friendly team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled CNC machinist to work with advanced CNC milling machinery and contribute to high-precision engineering projects. The ideal candidate will have experience programming and operating CNC Hurco Mills and machining aluminium parts.

The Role:
We are seeking a bright, positive, and skilled CNC Programmer and Operator with experience in machining aluminium components. This role offers variety, challenge, and the opportunity to grow within a well-established precision engineering company.

Key Responsibilities:
*Independently program and operate 3-axis VM20i & 5-axis VMX30Ui CNC Hurco Mills.
*Conventional programming in WinMax using DXF files.
*NC programming using Fusion 360 CAM software.
*Machining aluminium, plastics, and free-issue parts.
*Tool management and setup.
*Reading and interpreting technical engineering drawings.
*Maintaining strong organisational practices and good engineering hygiene.

Requirements:
*Proven experience as a CNC programmer and operator.
*Proficiency in programming 3-axis and 5-axis Hurco milling machines.
*Strong knowledge of technical drawings and tooling setup.
*Excellent attention to detail, reliability, and punctuality.

Desirable Skills:
*Experience with Aberlink CMM programming.
*Familiarity with CO2 laser and Fibre laser operation.
