Our client are a market leading Precision Engineering company who offer turn key solutions into a number of industries including aerospace, defence, automotive and more.

We are assisting them with their search for an experienced multi axis programmer to join their successful team.

The role

  • Develop efficient and cost-effective programs for 3-axis to 5-axis milling machines.

  • Enhance both new and existing programs for optimal performance.

  • Support machinists in delivering high-quality components safely and efficiently.

  • Maintain program infrastructure in line with AS9100D accreditation requirements.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives while minimising waste.

  • Collaborate closely with production teams to maximize Right First Time (RFT) and On-Time In-Full (OTIF) delivery of parts.

  • Design adaptable fixturing solutions to improve machining processes.

  • Extend tool life while exploring new cutting techniques and tooling advancements.

  • Work alongside manufacturing engineers to plan efficient production methods.

    Knowledge & Expertise

  • Extensive experience in CNC machining within a precision engineering environment.

  • Strong proficiency in CNC programming using Fanuc and Heidenhain control systems.

  • Expertise in programming for both turning and milling operations, preferably up to 5-axis (3+2), with knowledge of setting, operating, and programming.

  • Skilled in 3D modeling, ideally using SolidWorks and Visi.

  • Familiarity with offline programming, with a preference for VISI CAM software.

  • Deep understanding of tooling, fixturing, and lean manufacturing principles to enhance machining efficiency.

    Core Responsibilities

  • Ensure spindle efficiency by providing proven programs ahead of production timelines.

  • Contribute to New Product Introduction (NPI) projects while maintaining scheduled deadlines.

  • Generate precise setup sheets and tooling logs to support operations.

  • Assist in identifying and resolving non-conformance issues to uphold quality standards.

  • Provide machining technicians with effective troubleshooting support, implementing lasting solutions.

  • Develop CNC/CADCAM programs for CNC turning and milling machines, including 4- and 5-axis machining centres.

    Salary

    This role is paying up to £45,000 per annum plus benefits
