We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join a leading aerospace precision engineering team in Manchester. This role is ideal for an experienced professional who thrives in a fast-paced, low-volume/high-mix production environment.
 
The Company
A reputable aerospace organisation known for excellence in precision engineering and manufacturing. They pride themselves on delivering high-quality components to various aerospace clients, maintaining a strong commitment to quality and innovation.
 
The Role
As a CNC Programmer, you will be responsible for developing and optimising CNC programs based on engineering drawings and 3D models. You'll play a key role in enhancing machining efficiency and ensuring the production of high-quality parts.
 
Key Responsibilities:

Create and refine CNC programs using Autodesk Powermill.
Interpret technical drawings and CAD models to generate accurate toolpaths.
Select suitable cutting tools, feeds, and speeds for various materials.
Produce detailed setup sheets for operators.
Conduct test runs and fine-tune programs for accuracy and cycle-time optimisation.
Use Powershape to design jigs, fixtures, and bespoke holding solutions.
Collaborate closely with machinists to improve programming and machining outcomes.
Apply revision control to all programming and setup data. 
The Individual
 We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:

Experience in CNC programming for 3-axis & 5-axis machining centres.
High-level proficiency in Autodesk Powermill and Powershape (Fusion 360 a bonus).
Strong knowledge of multi-axis machining strategies and tooling techniques.
Solid understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T.
Practical knowledge of material properties and best practices for collision avoidance.
