AMETEK MRO, a unit of AMETEK Aerospace & Defense, is a global provider of third-party MRO services to commercial, regional and general aviation customers as well as military, helicopter and business jet markets.

Conducting business from three sites in the United Kingdom, AEM offers specialist services for in excess of 5,000 components over a variety of aircraft systems with capabilities covering aircraft windings, electrical power, hydraulic components, landing gear and safety equipment.
Role & Responsibilities
Identify opportunities to drive down commodity costs through centralised purchasing activity, leveraging spend across the three sites and the wider Ametek group. Record cost down savings activity for submission to management review. Monitor and progress open purchase orders Follow up on stock outages where applicable and review part number demand to adjust min/max levels as required. Foster and maintain excellent supplier relationships and maintain supplier contact records in the supplier database. Source spare parts on the open inventory market, including possible next higher assemblies for parts teardown. Ensure that stock is available for use as and when required in compliance with company and industry guidelines and regulations. Act on internal purchase requisition requests and procure “non-stock” commercial products from suppliers as well as employing the Ametek Ivalua E-procurement system to channel spend through group wide suppliers. Weekly review of Aeromedic inventory reports and purchasing of pharmaceutical products for the Aeromedical Business Unit. Assist in the resolution of any delivery/quality/invoice issues. Arrange supplier product returns according to AEM returns policy and capture important information regarding quality/delivery issues for the assessment of supplier KPI performance. Assist the engineering team with the costing of spares, tooling and consumables for engineering projects. Attend daily Tier meetings to provide accurate and timely product information to support the Business Units.
Experience and Qualifications
Experience of purchasing technical products and services to support engineering operations Experience in MRP purchasing and stock management systems Procurement experience within an engineering / manufacturing / technical background, fostering and managing supplier relationships Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to manipulate large amounts of data to produce reports and analytical results. Ability to read and understand technical drawing and product specifications.
