Do you have a background buying materials and consumables within a Manufacturing and Assembly environment? (Machining, sheet metal/fabrication and assembly?

Are you looking to work for a first class precision engineering business?

If so then please read on.

Role: Buyer - Team Leader - aerospace department.

Location: Sandiacre

Salary: Up to £45000

Hours: 7am/8am start time finishing at 4pm/5pm Monday to Thursday and Fridays a finish time of 12:00.

Holidays: 5.6 weeks of annual leave per year inc. bank holidays, increasing to 6.6 weeks inc. bank holidays following 1 year of continuous service.

Benefits: Occupational Sick Pay, death in service x2 of salary, pension scheme.

Overview:

Working within a first-class precision engineering business that manufacture components with methods such as CNC Machining, Sheet metal and Fabrication, we now require a Buyer to lead a team of 2 buyers reporting directly to the Supply Chain Manager.

Brief overview of accountabilities

  • Effective day to day management of your designated suppliers

  • Lead monthly order book reviews with designated suppliers to identify performance improvements

  • Lead the project management of key purchasing projects

  • Manage inventory levels where applicable to an optimum level to ensure business continuity

  • Ensure internal systems are kept up to date with supplier inputs (lead times, pricing, delivery dates etc)

    The ideal candidate Buyer - team leader may have some of the following, however, please note these are only desirable and not essential as all applications will be looked at individually:

  • Previous experience working within a manufacturing environment that manufacture and assemble components - machining, sheet metal and fabrication or similar

  • Previous experience working in a buying capacity within an engineering environment with some leadership duties or the capacity to manage and lead a team.

  • Strong communication and numeracy skills

    Commutable from: Derby, Burton, Long Eaton, Heanor and surrounding areas
