AV / Structured Cabling Installation Engineer

Our growing client, Edwards Young is a boutique technology company established in 2005, specializing in networking, audio-visual systems, home automation, and IT security. They pride themselves on delivering excellent customer service and innovative technology solutions. This is based in London and the South East.

Do you have proven experience in AV and structured cabling installations? Are you ready to lead projects and mentor junior team members? We are seeking anAV/Structured Cabling Installation Engineerto take on a leading role in our team.

It would be beneficial, although not necessary, if you have Crestron, Control4 or Savant control systems or a Domestic Electrical Part P course or higher.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, install, and configurestructured cabling systemsat both 1st fix and retrofit stages.
  • Install and configureTVs, interactive displays, WiFi access points, andintegrated speaker systems.
  • Install and managehome automation control systems(e.g., Crestron, Control4, Savant).
  • Performdata cabinet installation, patching, and advanced networking tasks, including router and network switch setup.
  • ConductTV aerial and satellite dish installations.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers to ensure consistent service quality.
  • Collaborate with clients to deliver tailored solutions and troubleshoot technical issues.

Skills and Experience

  • Strong understanding ofnetworking, including LAN installations, routers, and switches.
  • Experience withhome automation systems, integrated AV setups, and structured cabling.
  • Familiarity with power tools (e.g., SDS drills) and working at heights.
  • Excellentcustomer-facing and communication skills.
  • Afull, clean UK driving licenseis essential.
  • Lifting heavy boxes and equipment.
  • Working safely with electrical systems, ladders, and power tools.
