Our client is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Tool Designer to join our precision engineering team. The role involves designing tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures to support our manufacturing processes, ensuring they meet client specifications and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tool Design: Create detailed designs for tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures using CAD software.

  • Technical Interpretation: Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and customer requirements.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineers and machinists to ensure designs are feasible and meet quality standards.

  • Prototyping: Develop and test prototypes to validate design concepts.

  • Process Optimisation: Identify and implement design improvements to enhance manufacturing efficiency and product quality.

    Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in Tool Design is desired but not essential.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD); strong understanding of machining processes and materials.

  • Attention to Detail: High precision in design work.

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve design issues.

  • Communication: Effective collaboration with engineering and production teams.

    Work Environment:

  • Office setting with regular interaction in the machine shop.

  • Use of CAD workstations and occasional exposure to the shop floor.
