Passionate about connecting people with the aim of knowledge sharing? Interested in an inward facing role where you can understand the different levels of skills and experience of your team members? We might have the role for you!

Due to increased workload, we have a newly created Technical Project Manager role for someone with Engineering Systems experience. You will be integrated into 1-3 projects at a time. This role will be focused on working with a wide range of departments, mostly Portsmouth based, meaning face-to-face meetings and maybe a cuppa will be welcomed.

How you will contribute to the team…

  • Capture sub-system or component level requirements and generate solutions with accompanying technical specifications

  • Select and propose the most appropriate technologies for the sub-system, component or discipline.

  • Ensure timely delivery of high quality on cost deliverables aligned with the wider programme

  • Lead the resolution of technical issues related to sub-systems, components or specific disciplines

  • Adapt and apply lean product development processes and meet programme delivery needs

About you...

  • Proven experience in technical management or sub-system leadership

  • Strong understanding of system engineering principles and technical risk management

  • Ability to drive delivery across multiple projects concurrently

  • Experience working in a cross functional technical environment with a focus on innovation and efficiency

  • Understanding of scoping and writing work packages

Not a 100% match? No worries! Airbus supports your personal growth with customised development solutions.

How we can support you

Many of our staff work flexibly in many different ways, including part-time. Please talk to us at the interview about the flexibility you need and we’ll always do our best to accommodate your request.

Please let us know if you need us to make any adjustments for the selection process – you can share this with your Talent Acquisition Partner if you are invited to interview. Examples may include (but not exclusive to) accessible facilities; auxiliary aids; room layout, etc. Any information disclosed will be treated in the strictest confidence.

As a Disability Confident Employer, Airbus UK will offer an interview to any applicant that considers themselves to have a disability or long-term condition under the Equality Act 2010 and meets the minimum criteria of the role (as set out in the job advert). To ‘opt in’, just select the option during your application submission and your application will be considered accordingly.

This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company’s success, reputation and sustainable growth.

Where to Advertise Space Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Where to advertise space jobs UK in 2026: the specialist boards, agency channels and community routes that reach satellite, propulsion and launch talent. The candidate pool spans satellite engineers, propulsion specialists, mission analysts, ground segment software developers, space systems architects and commercial space professionals — a highly specific multidisciplinary community that general job boards are poorly equipped to reach. The strongest space candidates are often embedded in ESA programmes, academic research groups, UK Space Agency-funded projects or established primes, and move between roles through sector-specific networks, industry bodies and conference communities rather than mainstream platforms. This guide, published by UKSpaceJobs.co.uk, covers where to advertise space industry roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about hiring across different role types.
