We're working with a leading global aerospace organisation looking for a Senior Human Factors Engineer to play a pivotal role in developing next-generation cockpit systems for advanced military aircraft.

In this role, you'll work at the cutting edge of aviation-supporting cockpit design, simulator development, and system usability-ensuring optimal interaction between pilot and machine. You'll be involved in everything from concept development to supporting flight trials and airworthiness clearances.

🔧 Key Responsibilities:

Analyse pilot use-cases to influence cockpit Human-Machine Interface (HMI) design.

Collaborate closely with engineers, test pilots, and stakeholders to ensure the application of best Human Factors practices.

Assist with simulator development and immersive cockpit testing environments.

Design and evolve system modes for navigation, communications, weapons, and defensive systems.

Conduct Human Error Analysis and support safety assessments.

Support verification and validation for qualification and compliance.

Contribute to technical documentation, usability studies, and pilot assessments.

Liaise with aircrew and cross-functional teams to define system interaction and ergonomics.

✅ Ideal Profile:

Degree-qualified in Human Factors, Ergonomics, Psychology, or a related field.

Strong understanding of user-centred design principles.

Confident communicator, comfortable working with engineers and operational users.

Analytical thinker with a creative, problem-solving mindset.

Able to manage multiple priorities and take initiative.

💡 Desirable Experience:

Exposure to military or aerospace domains.

Experience conducting usability assessments or experimental trials.

Familiarity with HMI design for complex or safety-critical systems.
