Owen Daniels are supporing a well-established and growing aerospace manufacturing business based in South Birmingham, is looking to appoint an experiencedQuality Manager to lead its quality function and drive continuous improvement across the business.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Quality Manager who can hit the ground running in a fast-paced precision manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will have extensive experience working within the aerospace sector and a strong understanding ofAS9100 quality management systems.

Reporting directly to senior management, you will take ownership of the site's quality strategy while remaining actively involved in day-to-day quality activities, supporting production, customers, and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and develop the Quality Department, leading a team of5 comprising Quality Technicians and Quality Engineers.
  • Maintain and continually improve the company'sAS9100 Quality Management System.
  • Lead internal, customer and third-party audits.
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions using8D and5 Why methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory and aerospace quality requirements.
  • Investigate non-conformances and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Work closely with production, engineering and supply chain teams to improve quality performance.
  • Monitor KPIs and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Manage customer quality issues and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Support supplier quality activities where required.
The Candidate

The successful candidate will demonstrate:
  • Previous experience as aQuality Manager within an aerospace manufacturing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge ofAS9100 and aerospace quality standards.
  • A hands-on approach with the ability to solve problems on the shop floor.
  • Proven experience using8D,5 Why, Root Cause Analysis and continuous improvement tools.
  • Experience leading and developing quality teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to work independently and make confident decisions.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to make an immediate impact.
