First Article Inspector / Quality Engineer ***

£30 per hour

£45 overtime rate

This role falls inside IR35.

Currently seeking a detail oriented First Article Inspector / Quality Engineer to support an urgent project in Birmingham. Support will be on a full-time basis for 2-3 months, as we look to assist a customer in clearing a back-log of FAIRs. The focus of the role is the accurate validation of Supplier FAI submissions, in line with the requirements of AS9102 and customer FAI standard.

Responsibilities:

Complete a thorough and accurate review of Supplier submitted FAIs to assure compliance to customer defined requirements, including those of AS9102.
Provide concise feedback to suppliers on any issues identified through the review process, following up with them verbally and by e-mail to facilitate updates to their FAI submission
Maintain FAI tracker for review status, outcome and any issues identified.
Communicate updates to the customer both verbally and in writing as necessary.Role Requirements:

A minimum of 3 years, in the last 5 years, aerospace experience in either a quality engineering or manufacturing engineering capacity
Strong and robust working knowledge of AS9102 at the current revision, in addition to a sound understanding of the requirements of AS9100.
The ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, supported by a broad aerospace commodity background
Ability to articulate FAI issues both verbally and in writing
Strong computer skills, specifically with the use of Microsoft Office applications and custom databases.Additional Requirements:

Must be a UK National (due to program security restrictions)
