Company Overview
Degas is an innovative AI company dedicated to improving the incomes of smallholder farmers in Sub-Saharan Africa. We believe Africa’s development is closely tied to the success of its farmers. Currently, we operate large-scale programs with over 20,000 smallholder farmers across more than 15,000 hectares of dispersed farmland. Through a network of 100 locally stationed field agents, we collect data from each farm. This data is processed through our proprietary geospatial foundation model to generate AI-driven solutions, providing actionable insights directly in the field.

Job Description
This position will lead the social implementation of solutions using satellite imagery and AI. As Degas’ execution lead for projects involving government agencies, international development organizations, private companies, NGOs, and foundations, you will be responsible for:

  • Regular coordination, progress tracking, and Q&A with partners such as government agencies and development institutions.

  • Collaborating with the ML team to organize requirements, understand technical specifications, and align deliverables.

  • Preparing and delivering reports, presentation materials, and other project outputs.

  • Managing execution plans for grant and subsidy projects.

  • Preparing for regular partner meetings, taking minutes, and following up on action items.

  • Building SOPs for project management and proposing/implementing efficiency improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • Business-level English (reading, writing, and speaking).

  • 2+ years’ experience executing IT/AI implementation, PoC, or grant-funded projects.

  • Hands-on experience in project management and document preparation (Google Slides, Docs, Sheets, etc.).

  • Experience coordinating work with tech teams (ML, engineers).

  • Proven ability to manage tasks and stakeholders independently.

  • Strong initiative and execution ability in environments with high uncertainty and ambiguity.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience working with government agencies (e.g., MEXT, Ministry of Agriculture), international development organizations (e.g., JICA, UN), and private sector partners (mainly in technology).

  • Interest in and knowledge of AI and development-related projects.

  • Experience collaborating with native English-speaking teams via Slack/Zoom.

  • Experience building project SOPs/templates or working in a PMO capacity.

  • Experience executing projects in startups or resource-constrained environments.

Work Location
Primarily remote (ANYWHERE).
However, as many partners (government agencies, private companies) are located in Tokyo, candidates should be able to visit the city about three times a week for meetings or deliverables.
Occasional domestic and international travel (e.g., Asia, Africa) may be required.

Why Join Degas
You will work as part of a mission-driven team tackling social challenges in Sub-Saharan Africa through scalable, high-impact approaches. Collaborate with a global team of ML engineers and scientists across Japan and Europe to implement cutting-edge technology into real-world challenges. This is a front-line position driving the social implementation of satellite × AI solutions in partnership with government agencies, private companies, and others—beyond “desk research” into tangible impact.

Application Process
Interested candidates should submit a résumé and cover letter, along with any deliverables or portfolios showcasing relevant experience and expertise.

Support
If you require any accommodations or adjustments during the interview process, please let us know without hesitation.

Equal Opportunity
Degas is committed to providing equal opportunities to all candidates. We conduct recruitment and selection fairly, without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, physical or mental disability, genetic information, marital status, citizenship, military service, protected veteran status, or any other legally protected attribute.

Where to Advertise Space Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Where to advertise space jobs UK in 2026: the specialist boards, agency channels and community routes that reach satellite, propulsion and launch talent. The candidate pool spans satellite engineers, propulsion specialists, mission analysts, ground segment software developers, space systems architects and commercial space professionals — a highly specific multidisciplinary community that general job boards are poorly equipped to reach. The strongest space candidates are often embedded in ESA programmes, academic research groups, UK Space Agency-funded projects or established primes, and move between roles through sector-specific networks, industry bodies and conference communities rather than mainstream platforms. This guide, published by UKSpaceJobs.co.uk, covers where to advertise space industry roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about hiring across different role types.

Space Jobs UK 2026: What to Expect Over the Next 3 Years

Space Jobs UK 2026: roles, salaries and the UK space sector hiring trends shaping satellites, launch, Earth observation and space data careers. The UK space sector is in the middle of something that feels genuinely historic. A combination of government commitment, private capital, and technological progress has transformed Britain's position in the global space economy from a capable but secondary player into a nation with serious sovereign ambitions — and a jobs market that is expanding to match them. This is not the space industry of previous generations, defined by a small number of government agencies, a handful of prime contractors, and career pathways accessible only to a narrow band of elite engineers and scientists. The new space economy is broader, faster-moving, and more commercially driven than anything the sector has previously seen. Satellite manufacturing has been democratised by small sat technology. Launch is becoming domestic. Space data is flowing into applications across agriculture, insurance, climate monitoring, maritime, and defence at a scale that is creating entirely new categories of commercial hiring. And the defence and national security dimensions of space have elevated the sector's strategic importance to a degree that is driving sustained public investment in the talent pipeline. For job seekers, the UK space jobs market of 2026 represents an opportunity that is both more accessible and more technically demanding than at any previous point. The candidates who will thrive over the next three years are those who understand where the sector is heading — which programmes are moving from development into operation, which technologies are defining the architecture of modern space systems, and how the definition of a space career is expanding well beyond the spacecraft engineering core toward a much wider ecosystem of roles across the full space value chain. This article breaks down what the UK space jobs market is likely to look like through to 2028 — covering the titles emerging right now, the technologies driving employer demand, the skills that will matter most, and how to position your career at the leading edge of one of the most exciting sectors in the UK economy.
