About the Role

We're seeking a Platform Software Engineer to join the world-class engineering team at BAE Systems, Warton. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and support of cutting-edge software solutions for advanced aerospace and defence systems.
As a Platform Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, integration, and testing of platform-level software, ensuring performance, reliability, and compliance with safety and security standards.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain software for complex aerospace systems.
Perform software integration, debugging, and verification activities.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
Support software reviews, configuration control, and documentation.
Ensure compliance with BAE Systems engineering and quality processes.

Skills & Experience Required

Strong background in C/C++, Python, or similar languages.
Experience with embedded or real-time systems.
Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
Familiarity with DO-178, MIL-STD, or similar defence/aerospace standards (desirable).
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
