An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experiencedPolisher / Fettler to join a successful aerospace manufacturing environment in Basildon. This role is ideal for someone with a keen eye for detail who enjoys working with precision-engineered components and maintaining the highest quality standards.

The Role

As aPolisher / Fettler, you will be responsible for the deburring, fettling and polishing of aerospace components to meet strict customer and drawing specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Removing burrs and sharp edges using files, scrapers and rotary tools
• Grinding and polishing metal components to engineering drawing requirements using hand and air-powered tools
• Light polishing of steel and aluminium parts to achieve the required finish
• Carrying out visual inspections of completed components
• Using measuring and inspection equipment to verify quality standards
• Completing production and quality documentation accurately
• Working in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 50001 standards
• Supporting continuous improvement and energy-saving initiatives within the department
• Working safely and maintaining a clean, organised workstation

Requirements

• Previous experience in polishing, fettling, deburring or finishing metal components
• Experience within an engineering, aerospace or manufacturing environment is highly desirable
• Ability to work from job lists, drawings and verbal instructions
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
• Comfortable carrying out repetitive tasks and standing or sitting for extended periods
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Experience using hand tools, air tools and inspection equipment
• Flexible approach with the ability to work overtime when required
• Reliable, motivated and quality-focused
