A global leader in advanced aerospace and defense manufacturing, is looking for a Mechanical Inspector to strengthen our quality team in Poole.

About the Role:

As a Mechanical Inspector, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality of our precision-machined components, assemblies, and welded fabrications. Working in a high-spec ISO9001/AS9100 environment, you will be responsible for first-off, in-process, and final inspections, as well as compiling FAIR documentation and maintaining QA records.

What You'll Be Doing:

Perform inspections to ensure compliance with technical drawings and specifications

Use handheld and CMM measuring equipment for detailed inspections

Compile FAIR and quality documentation to internal and customer requirements

Inspect goods-in materials, sub-contract parts, and treatments

Support contract reviews and non-conformance investigations (RCCA/MRB)

Coordinate calibration of inspection equipment and maintain traceability reports

Assist in audits and continuous improvement activities

What We're Looking For:

5+ years of inspection experience in an ISO9001 / AS9100 manufacturing environment

Strong understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances, and QA standards

Skilled with a range of measuring tools; CMM knowledge is a plus

Competent with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Welding inspection experience desirable

Highly organised, detail-oriented, and proactive team player

Preferred Qualifications:

Mechanical engineering apprenticeship, City & Guilds, or equivalent

GCSEs (A-C) in Maths and English

Experience maintaining digital QA records and equipment calibration
