Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

The Role

We’re seeking a skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to help deliver high-integrity design solutions for critical structures and mechanical systems. This is a hands-on technical role involving a mix of design, analysis, customer interaction, and project delivery support.

You’ll play a key part in developing detailed design data, reviewing technical outputs, and supporting a variety of exciting projects across challenging sectors. If you enjoy solving complex engineering problems with real-world impact, this is the role for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create, develop, and check detailed mechanical design outputs (3D models, drawings, BoMs)

  • Interpret and work to complex technical requirements and industry standards

  • Support project planning, costing, and documentation preparation

  • Assist in customer communication throughout the design and delivery phases

  • Contribute to training and support for junior engineers

  • Ensure technical compliance and design quality across assigned projects

    Experience / Qualifications Required:

  • Degree in Mechanical, Design, or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent experience)

  • Demonstrable experience in mechanical or structural design engineering

  • Strong working knowledge of 3D CAD and technical documentation standards

  • Familiarity with mechanical design best practices and industry codes (e.g. BS, ISO, ASME)

  • Comfortable working with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams
