A leading manufacturer of advanced engineering solutions is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer - Marine to join their Global Marine Field Service team. This role focuses on supporting, maintaining, and overhauling marine propulsion systems across the globe, with frequent travel and extended periods away from home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site service, diagnostics, and repairs for marine propulsion systems at customer and third-party locations worldwide.

  • Conduct major overhauls, ensuring all work meets the highest technical standards.

  • Support the sales team with technical expertise and identify potential new business opportunities while on site.

  • Work closely with customers to minimise downtime and optimise equipment performance.

  • Maintain tools and equipment to required calibration standards.

  • Complete all service reports and documentation promptly and accurately.

  • Represent the company professionally at all times, maintaining strong customer relationships.

  • Train and mentor colleagues to share product and technical knowledge.

  • Work flexibly, including unsociable hours and weekends, as required by project schedules.

    Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven background in marine engineering, ideally with hands-on experience in propulsion systems (e.g., Royal Navy, Merchant Navy, ship repair, dry dock operations).

  • Strong mechanical and electrical engineering skills, including HV systems, motors, inverters, and electronic controls.

  • Comfortable diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs in the field.

  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office and confident with technical reporting.

  • Valid driving licence and willingness to travel internationally for extended periods.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.

    The Package

  • £60,000 – £75,000 (dependent on experience)

  • Annual bonus

  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays (pro rata for join date)
