Inspector - Aerospace Components | £29,000 per year | Permanent | South East England

We are partnering with a leading aviation specialist to hire a Component Inspector for their dynamic inspection department. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong aerospace or mechanical background to step into a critical role within a high-performing MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul) environment.

What you'll be doing:

As an Inspector, you'll be responsible for the detailed inspection of aircraft components in accordance with OEM CMMs (Component Maintenance Manuals) and SOPMs (Standard Operating Procedures & Manuals). You'll utilize SAP to record component condition, generate cost-effective overhaul or repair route sheets, and ensure all part numbers (P/N), serial numbers (S/N), and status details are accurately entered into the system.
You'll support the production team by working to ASPEN and milestone priorities, collaborating with Technical Engineering and other shop-floor teams. You'll also contribute to mentoring junior technicians and maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities:

Perform detailed mechanical inspections of aerospace components (excluding quarantined items)

Create/modify overhaul and repair routes using SAP ERP

Record all inspection data and part conditions accurately

Use imperial and metric precision tools (micrometres, callipers, gauges)

Liaise with engineering and production control to support turnaround targets

Support compliance with HSE, MAPP, and Environmental Procedures

Maintain a Personal Experience Record (PER) book and take part in daily team dialogues
What we're looking for:

Apprenticeship or formal qualification in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering (desirable)

Previous experience in a component inspection or aerospace MRO environment

Proficient in SAP or similar enterprise systems

Skilled in manual measurement techniques and use of inspection equipment

Good working knowledge of aviation documentation (e.g., Boeing/Airbus portals)

Strong attention to detail and workshop housekeeping discipline

Eligible to live and work in the UK unrestricted

Good unaided (or corrected) vision and ability to sit or lift as needed
Working conditions:

Full-time, permanent role with shift options: Monday-Friday or Tuesday-Saturday

Occasional overtime may be required

Temperature-variant workshop environment with machinery noise exposure
This is a great opportunity to advance your career in aerospace inspection within a well-established and globally respected organisation. Apply now to be part of a team that plays a key role in ensuring airworthiness and operational excellence
