The Role:
The Ground Integrated Project Team Engineer will be responsible for the design and implementation of the ground segment of a satellite communications system. They will be fully conversant with the construction and performance of the ground segment and able to represent it to the customer.

Manages more than one technical engineering and science organization. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.

Manages the activities of subordinate associate managers, supervisors, or exempt professionals. Guides by function practices and defined management precedents. Maintains communication with internal personnel, external customers, and peers at various levels.

Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis requires evaluation of a variety of factors. Advises on tasks, projects, and operations. Typically does not participate in the daily tasks of supervised group.

Accountable for setting strategic direction, making decisions, allocating resources, fostering collaboration, and driving the achievement of organizational objective. Decisions impact financial, employee, or public relations posture. Serves as a consultant on highly significant matters and long-range objectives.

Actively contributes to the development of new concepts. Possesses full knowledge of industry and company practices, demonstrating expertise in the field and related disciplines

Required skills, qualifications and experience

  • Significant related experience and may have a post-secondary degree or training in a related discipline.

  • Experience and knowledge of ground segment hardware and software is particularly desirable.
