Are you an Engineering Supervisor, Senior Mechanical Engineer, or Technical Team Leader looking to take ownership of a specialist engineering function within a growing business that supports the aviation, telecommunications, power generation, medical, automotive, and research sectors?

Established for over 25 years, this company specialises in the calibration, maintenance, and repair of test and measurement equipment. Renowned for delivering high-quality technical solutions worldwide, they are seeking an experienced Technical Manager to oversee engineering operations and support the continued development of their technical capabilities.

In this role, you will manage the day-to-day technical function, provide advanced engineering support, coordinate projects, develop team performance, and drive process improvements across the business. You will also support research and development activities while ensuring compliance with customer requirements, quality standards, and industry regulations.

This role would suit a Technical Manager, Engineering Manager, Workshop Manager, Service Manager, or senior engineering professional with strong leadership skills and a mechanical engineering background looking for a long-term opportunity within a specialist technical environment.

The Role:

  • Manage and develop a team of engineers and technical personnel
  • Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting expertise
  • Lead engineering projects from planning through to completion
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across technical operations
  • Support research and development activities
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and industry regulations
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, and key stakeholders

The Person:

  • Previous experience in a Technical Manager, Engineering Manager, Workshop Manager, Service Manager, or similar role
  • Strong mechanical engineering background
  • Degree qualified in Engineering, Technology, or a related discipline desirable
