Location: Redhill / Hybrid Post Probation + travel to remote sites

The Opportunity

They’re looking for aDatacoms Technician to join a high-performing Engineering team, supporting and delivering advanced networking solutions across VSAT, LTE and global infrastructures.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll play a key role in supporting and delivering customer network solutions, working across the full lifecycle from build through to support:

• Supporting and maintaining complex customer network environments (VSAT, LTE, global networks)
• Investigating and resolving escalated technical issues with a structured, customer-focused approach
• Assisting with the build, configuration, testing and installation of networks both at HQ and remote sites
• Working on a range of solutions including VoIP, firewalling, virtualisation, web filtering and high-availability systems
• Producing and maintaining clear project and technical documentation
• Supporting product evaluation, system integration and new technology adoption
• Travelling at short notice to support installations, surveys and configurations when required

What they’re looking for

Essential

• Strong grounding inTCP/IP networking (routing, switching, firewalls – ideally Layer 7)
• Experience troubleshooting complex network and IT issues end-to-end
• Exposure tosatellite communications and/or enterprise IT systems
• Relevant qualification (HNC/HND/Degree in IT, Networking, Electronics or similar)
• Strong communication skills and a proactive, “can do” attitude

Desirable

• Cisco or Microsoft certifications
• Linux / Windows server knowledge
• VoIP (Asterisk ideally)
• Scripting (Bash / Perl)
• Experience with system design or project delivery
