We are seeking a highly skilled Control Systems Engineer working within a small team of multi disciplined engineers. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining control systems for a range of industrial applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure system reliability, efficiency, and performance.

This is a full-time position, based in our Usk offices with occasional travel.

  • Design, program, and commission control systems, including PLCs, SCADA, and HMI systems.

  • Programming Siemens plc

  • Develop and implement automation solutions for manufacturing and process control environments.

  • Troubleshoot and optimize existing control systems to improve efficiency and reliability.

  • Conduct system testing, validation, and performance analysis.

  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers on project development.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices.

  • Provide technical support, training, and documentation for system users.

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Automation, or a related field.

  • Functional safety qualification advantageous.

  • Proven experience in control systems design, programming, and implementation.

  • Proficiency in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and SCADA systems.

  • Strong knowledge of industrial networking protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, EtherCat, CAN, Profibus, etc).

  • Experience with motion control, robotics is advantageous.

  • Ability to understand electrical schematics, P&IDs, and technical drawings.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

  • UK driving licence

  • Able to travel to sites throughout the UK
