Primary responsibilities comprise:

• Contributing to Lockheed Martin's Space growth strategies, with a specific focus on UK National Security and Defence and Civil Space.
• Cultivating and sustaining partnerships with senior government, military, civil space, and industry influencers and decision-makers.
• Converting market, environmental, and competitive intelligence into actionable strategies.

• Collaborating with Space LOBs and MSAGs to achieve regional and UK security and defence and civil space order commitments.
• Retaining comprehensive knowledge of civil and UK defence level growth opportunities.
• Overseeing the management of allocated resources, including consultants and contractors.
• Co-ordinating seamlessly with GBD&S International, Space LOB, MSAGs, MFOs, and other Business Development teams.

Required skills, qualifications and experience

• Extensive expertise in the space sector, ideally spanning government and commercial sectors.
• In-depth comprehension of the UK Space ecosystem, including civil, commercial, academic, and think-tank sectors.
• A well-established network of senior relationships across government, military, civil space, and industry, especially within UK national security and defence.
• A proven business development background, with a thorough understanding of the program lifecycle.
• Strong analytical prowess, translating complex market intelligence data into strategic insights.
• Capacity to build and retain local talent through strategic recruitment and retention practices.
• Skill in forging and preserving senior-level relationships, both internally and externally.
• Independence and the ability to thrive in self-directed, unsupervised roles.

Where to Advertise Space Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Where to advertise space jobs UK in 2026: the specialist boards, agency channels and community routes that reach satellite, propulsion and launch talent. The candidate pool spans satellite engineers, propulsion specialists, mission analysts, ground segment software developers, space systems architects and commercial space professionals — a highly specific multidisciplinary community that general job boards are poorly equipped to reach. The strongest space candidates are often embedded in ESA programmes, academic research groups, UK Space Agency-funded projects or established primes, and move between roles through sector-specific networks, industry bodies and conference communities rather than mainstream platforms. This guide, published by UKSpaceJobs.co.uk, covers where to advertise space industry roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about hiring across different role types.
