About The Role

We are currently looking for a Yardsperson/Relief Driver for our Great Yarmouth branch. If you already work in the construction industry and you are looking for a role where you are part of team and has variety in your working week and that can take your skills to the next level, we are the people for you!

The Pump Rental Team in Great Yarmouth have a great opportunity for a Relief Driver who will also support our branch yard, assisting with the day-to-day operations, loading, and unloading of our lorries and keeping our yard secure and organised.

You will need to be a committed, confident self-starter who has a genuine interest in construction whilst carrying out tasks within our yard and ensure timely delivery of our pumps and equipment in time to meet our customers expectations within a timely manner.

Task and Responsibilities within the yard:

  • To keep the yard and workshops in a clean and tidy state at all times.

  • To assist with loading and unloading of vehicles.

  • To clean hire equipment prior to entry to workshop.

  • To be able to communicate accurately to your supervisor, work colleagues and customers.

  • To comply with all PPE requirements.

    LGV Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure an understanding of, and full compliance with Tachograph operation.

  • Carry out a risk visual assessment prior to loading and unloading activity takes place.

  • Ensure all loading and unloading activity is carried out in a safe and efficient manner.

  • Provide safe installation of pumping equipment by the use of lorry mounted crane.

  • Carry out daily maintenance and defect checks of the vehicle.

  • You may be required to take part on call outs which comes with an allowance.

  • Vehicle exterior to be washed and cab interior to be cleaned and swept out weekly so that vehicle is clean and presentable at all times.

  • Ensure that the Vehicle log book is maintained and held securely in the Vehicle cab.

  • Understand that Company vehicles may be fitted with a satellite tracking device.

  • Ensure all items and quantities are matched to Branch paperwork.

    Qualifications & Skills required:

  • LGV Licence (Class 1 is desirable but not essential)

  • Hi-ab (hook) qualification is desirable

  • CPC and Digital Tachograph

  • Forklift Licence is desirable

  • Previous work history within a similar environment

  • Good communicator with a can do attitude.
