Role

The Wiring Operations Engineer will play a key role in the Assembly, Integration, and Testing (AIT) department, focusing on spacecraft wiring operations. This includes harness routing, connector plugging, and test harness preparation for thermal vacuum testing. The role may require occasional travel to Defence and Space locations across Europe.

Responsibilities

  • Perform wiring operations on spacecraft, including harness routing and connector plugging.
  • Prepare and validate test harnesses for thermal vacuum testing, ensuring compliance with technical specifications.
  • Complete necessary documentation and procedures for wiring tasks.
  • Identify and report any anomalies or deviations, ensuring proper documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support successful wiring system integration and testing.

Required Experience

  • Experience in wiring operations within the aerospace industry, particularly in spacecraft assembly and integration.
  • Knowledge of Defence and Space work order systems (e.g., Apriso, PREX) is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with harness flight connections and wiring activities for space applications.
  • Mandatory certifications: Electrical authorization, CACES (aerial bucket operation).
  • Competency in wiring inspection and coaxial connection routing.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in aerospace wiring techniques, including harness connections and coaxial routing.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems and spacecraft wiring procedures.
  • Ability to work at heights and operate aerial lifting equipment (CACES certification).
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills.
  • Attention to detail to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.

Required Education

Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
